Which approaches work well online?
Most of the evidence-based approaches we use in our offices work just as well by video. Your therapist will tailor sessions to your goals, share worksheets or exercises on screen when useful and check in on how the online format is working for you, adjusting as needed.
Approaches commonly offered in online sessions include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- DBT skills coaching
- Psychodynamic Therapy
- Mindfulness-based approaches
- Solution-Focused Therapy
What is online therapy?
Therapy that fits your schedule
Online therapy is ongoing one-on-one counseling for adults, held over a secure video platform instead of in our office. It suits people with busy lives or long commutes and can help with:
With weekday appointments from 8 AM to 8 PM and Saturday mornings, it’s easier to fit sessions around work, caregiving or travel within New York and New Jersey. Many people find it easier to open up from a familiar space, and with no travel time it’s simpler to keep sessions consistent, which is often where real progress happens.
Benefits of online therapy
Research suggests video therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions for many common concerns, including anxiety and depression. It also removes practical barriers — travel, parking, time off work — that can make it hard to start therapy or keep going.

Join from home, a parked car or a quiet office room and get back to your day straight away.

Frequently
Asked Questions
Questions we’re often asked
Q1: Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
For many adults with anxiety, depression or stress, research suggests video therapy works about as well as meeting in person. Your therapist will tell you if another format may suit you better.
Q2: What do I need for an online session?
A phone, tablet or computer with a camera, a stable internet connection and a private spot where you won’t be overheard. Headphones can help.
Q3: Can I have online therapy from anywhere?
You need to be physically located in New York or New Jersey at the time of each session, as that is where our clinicians can provide care.
Q4: Are online sessions private and secure?
Yes. Sessions take place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, and the same confidentiality rules apply as in our offices.
Q5: Is online therapy right for everyone?
Not always. Some concerns are better treated in person, and we’ll help you choose. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911.
